Sunshine Recipes

Sometimes we make shadows blacker than they are. We can avoid the rain or dance in it- it's a cliche and so overused that I think we forget the simple truth behind it. Here are some recipes for thankfulness and cheeriness to brighten your day:

*Go write a list of things God has blessed you with(I keep a whole notebook).
*Take out time to praise, whether with a CD, or on an instrument. I love to get on my piano and play beauty and praise into the shadows that come.
*Go to a pretty out-of-doors spot, empty your heart to Him, and let Him fill you back up. Listen to the songs in the silence.
*Turn to the book of Psalms (34 is what I've been meditating on lately, and so precious) and pray that He would lead you to one you need to hear.
*(Don't laugh at me). Blow bubbles! I have a stash of bitty bubble bottles, 17 though I am. Just give the wand a wave, just watch the dancing globes of shine and sparkly, and just know that life is full of good things!
*If you like peanut butter cookies (these are on the sweet side!) I'll often make these 15 minute cookies to cheer up my heart and my household. When money is tight this is also a grand go-to recipe.

I once read somewhere that depression cannot thrive in a heart of thankfulness. Having battled with the throes of depression, I can testify that this is quite true! Feel free to share your own "Sunshine Recipes," I'd love to hear them!

Update: God has done it! And we got to be a part of it! $54,000 raised for orphans in India!!! More than we asked or dreamt! :D I can't praise Him enough. Thank you for everyone who has given and prayed!
Second Update: It looked grand on a different computer, but I realize the color scheme of this blog is horribly off... I'll be working on that. ;)

The Story World- Princess Angeline's Cookies

The holidays is not the best of times to launch a blog, and illness isn't conducive to blogging either. :) But, while I'm having a good moment, here's something for fun:

Princess Angeline's Peanut Butter Cookies

I simply couldn't let my fantasy world exist without the magical thing called Peanut Butter residing in it! This is the easiest recipe in the world (no... I don't quite have paperwork to back that up), and the very cookies I was eating as I was writing one particular scene in a story (I'll link back to this when said story is made available).
Note that they are on the sweet side...

Ingredients:
1 Cup Peanut Butter
1 Cup Sugar
1 Egg

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350. Blend peanut butter, sugar, and egg in medium mixing bowl. Grease cookie sheet. Bake approx. 10 minutes. Makes approx. 2 dozen.

High altitude:
No change. I live a mile high and don't alter the recipe a bit.

Princess Lessons: Heart to Heart

A Princess

A princess. Every girl wants to be one, doesn't she? Most of us dreamt of gorgeous dresses, sparkly crowns, enchanting dances, gallant princes, and all of those lovely things from pretty much the day of our birth. I was able to live this way through my stories for a long while, but it somehow never satisfied. In my heart of hearts, I needed to be a real princess.

A friend once said to me, "You're a daughter of the King of Kings! You can't get any closer to a princess than that!"

Fellow princesses, our crowning begins above and beyond all else, with our hearts. If we are daughters of the King, we can be princesses indeed!

12 Days of Christmas

I felt God pressuring me to launch Fairy Stories this month.

But King, my novella isn't edited yet. I don't feel ready to go. But that pressure wouldn't stop. Miss Elaini is one of my inspirations in the first place. I was cruising her website, and thought her 12 Days of Christmas campaign was a lovely idea.

Didn't think to be part of it.

But that perpetual pressure came back!

Oh King, I'm not the modeling type!

After enough of that, I decided, all right! I would send in my offer. I had a feeling it was too late anyway.

But I was offered the twelfth and final spot. I was to fashionably interpret "12 Drummers Drumming," and raise 1,000 for orphans.

Terrified, but getting excited, I shared the idea with my mother.

Who shocked me by saying it was out- for no reason at all! "Unless, your father agrees." That was a wry way of saying, "It will never happen." Mother was the easy one to convince.

I was crushed. I felt ridiculous for even trying to step out of my boundaries.

But isn't that how the enemy would want me to feel?

So I got on my knees, and didn't leave for hours. Lord, if you want me to do this, not only can you overcome my fears, and sway my father's heart, but provide a camera, provide a drum, a red coat, and a hat and gloves.

My father said yes.

Please pray that God would provide everything else I need for the shoot, as well as the 1,000 for orphans in India. He is perfectly able! And this is perfectly possible.

Christmas Eve is the twelfth day, and the day my shoot will be posted on the website.

If 100 people give $10 we have $1,000

If 50 people give $20 we have $1,000.

If 20 people give $50 we have $1,000

If 10 people give $100, we have $1,000

Not matter how small your gift, remember that a little goes a long way in other countries! Giving can hardly make a dent in our lives, but it can mean life or death to another person.

My latest novella is prayerfully to be released soon, as a gift to readers old and new. But until then Fairy Stories is proud to launch by partnering with Miss Elaini to raise $1,000 for orphans in India. Please get involved in changing lives, whether giving, praying, or spreading the word!

Every other novella is intended to be released for free, as part of a month-long campaign to raise money for orphans.

If you enjoy Fairy Stories, rather than paying for my free novellas please give an amount of your choice to orphans. Spread light in the dark lives of hurting children all around the world.

No matter how small (if you give the usual 99 cents that's fine!) your gift can go far in another country. The goal of this first campaign is to raise the hefty goal of $1,000.

If 100 people give $10 that's $1,000.

If 50 people give $20 that's $1,000.

If 20 people give $50 that's $1,000.
